OVERVIEW
Fixed a DJI Phantom drone that had lost its live video feed. The repair involved removing the RF board, soldering leads to the JTAG connectors, and re-flashing the firmware to restore full functionality.
THE PROBLEM
The DJI Phantom drone was experiencing a complete loss of live video feed transmission. The aircraft would fly normally but no video signal was being transmitted to the controller/display, making it essentially unusable for photography or FPV flight.
REPAIR PROCESS
Diagnosis
Identified the RF board as the source of the video transmission failure through systematic testing.
RF Board Removal
Carefully removed the RF board from the drone assembly for direct access to the JTAG interface.
JTAG Connection
Soldered leads to the JTAG connectors on the RF board to establish a programming interface.
Firmware Flash
Re-flashed the corrupted firmware via JTAG, restoring the video transmission functionality.
