OVERVIEW
A standalone LoRa-based text messenger designed for off-grid communications. This project explores long-range, low-power mesh networking capabilities for situations where traditional communication infrastructure is unavailable.
ABOUT LORA
LoRa (Long Range) is a spread spectrum modulation technique derived from chirp spread spectrum (CSS) technology. It enables long-range transmissions with low power consumption, making it ideal for IoT applications and off-grid communication devices.
LoRa devices can achieve ranges of several kilometers in rural areas and hundreds of meters in urban environments, all while operating on small batteries for extended periods.
USE CASES
- Emergency communication during disasters
- Backcountry/hiking communication
- Off-grid messaging in remote areas
- Mesh network experimentation
- Ham radio digital modes exploration
